Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS), a nonprofit
research organization supported by the U.S. property-casualty insurance industry. FORTIFIED
is not a generic word for “made stronger” — it is a defined credentialing program
with three designation levels:

FORTIFIED designations for premium discounts of up to 55%. HECS is the
