Thirteen services, one team. From the first design review to the final certificate, HECS handles the testing, documentation, and verification that closes your project clean.
HECS provides four integrated testing and certification practices that cover the full audit-grade work required to close a Midwest building project. Whether you're an affordable housing developer, a general contractor, a code official, or an architect, HECS delivers the field work, the documentation, and the program submittals that meet every requirement on the program of record.
ASHRAE 111 and NEBB-compliant air and hydronic balancing for commercial, multifamily, and institutional projects. Every HECS field tech holds the NCI Certified Commercial Air Balancer credential. Reports are read by code officials, mechanical contractors, and commissioning authorities across KY, IN, OH, TN, IL, and MO.
ASTM E779 and RESNET 380 airtightness testing for ENERGY STAR, NGBS, EarthCraft, and IECC code compliance. HECS maintains a retic fan array capable of testing buildings with leakage up to 50,000 CFM50, covering most multifamily mid-rises, light commercial, and small institutional projects.
ENERGY STAR v3.0/v3.1, NGBS Green (Bronze through Emerald), EarthCraft (Certified, Gold, Platinum), 45L Energy Efficient Home Credit ($2,500 per ENERGY STAR home, $5,000 per DOE Zero Energy Ready Home), and Indoor airPLUS. HECS delivers design review, on-site inspection, and the program submittal package.
IBHS FORTIFIED Home evaluations for Roof, Silver, and Gold designations. Insurance savings up to 55% are available through major carriers for FORTIFIED-certified homes. HECS is an IBHS-trained FORTIFIED Home Evaluator serving Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, Illinois, and Missouri.
HECS also delivers Engineered Utility Allowances for LIHTC, HUD, and USDA RD properties; Air Leakage Consulting and Thermal Imaging; Radon Testing per NRPP/NRSB standards; HVAC Noise (Decibel) Testing per ANSI/ASA S1.13 and AHRI 885; HVAC Design Consulting for architects and developers; and certified-testing integrations that bundle multiple services into a single engagement.
Bundling services under one HECS contract means one scoping call, one fixed-fee proposal, one project manager, one field crew, and one report package per program of record. The audit-grade documentation, the calibrated equipment, and the NCI-certified techs are the same on every engagement. Call (859) 983-7382 to scope a multi-service engagement, or email hecs@hecsusa.com with your project type, building size, and program of record.
